Overview

At Veritas, we don’t just tell stories, we engineer influence. We move at the speed of culture, powered by insight, creativity, and a relentless commitment to earning attention in meaningful ways. As we expand our integrated communications practice, we’re looking for a Senior Account Director who brings executive‑level client leadership, best‑in‑class strategic thinking, and the ability to elevate both people and programs across a portfolio of business.

As a Senior Account Director, you are a core strategic partner to clients and an influential leader within the agency. You oversee major accounts or multi‑brand portfolios, drive strategic vision, ensure operational excellence, and guide a high‑performing team to deliver standout, culturally relevant work. You provide clarity, direction, and foresight — empowering your teams to execute while you focus on leadership, counsel, and growth.

If you’re energized by shaping high‑impact integrated strategies, advising senior stakeholders, nurturing talent, and influencing the future of PR, this role is for you.

Responsibilities

Client Leadership & Strategic Partnership

  • Act as a senior strategic partner to top-tier clients, cultivating trusted relationships with directors, VPs, and C‑suite stakeholders.
  • Own and shape long‑term account vision, ensuring programs directly support client business objectives and brand priorities.
  • Lead major strategic moments (annual planning, business reviews, organizational briefs, crisis/issue navigation) with executive-ready thinking.
  • Deliver high-impact counsel with a forward-looking POV on culture, industry trends, and reputational considerations.
  • Oversee integrated 360 strategies ensuring cohesion and measurable impact, alongside IAT partners.
  • Ensure excellence in client satisfaction and retention, anticipating needs before they surface.
  • Provide proactive guidance on risk, reputation, and competitive realities while bringing calm, confident leadership to complex situations.

Portfolio Oversight, Operational Excellence & Financial Leadership

  • Oversee a portfolio of accounts, ensuring strategic alignment, operational efficiency, and high-quality delivery across client programs.
  • Own financial stewardship for your portfolio: forecasting, staffing models, scopes, margins, and efficiency improvements.
  • Partner with agency leadership to resource accounts effectively, balancing client needs with talent development and agency priorities.
  • Identify and resolve portfolio-level risks related to workflow, team structure, financial health, and client dynamics.
  • Shape and strengthen scalable internal systems, templates, and processes that support quality, clarity, and growth across the agency.
  • Champion operational discipline while creating space for creativity and big ideas.

Team Leadership, Mentorship & Delegation

  • Lead, coach, and inspire a multi-level team.
  • Delegate strategically, empowering account teams to lead day‑to‑day while you provide oversight, guidance, and escalation support.
  • Drive talent development by offering ongoing feedback, structured mentorship, and clear growth pathways.
  • Support reviews, development plans, and succession planning for direct reports.
  • Build a positive, supportive, accountable culture rooted in trust, collaboration, and excellence, especially during high-pressure moments.
  • Model leadership behaviour that strengthens team engagement, morale, and retention.

Earned+ Media Strategy, Leadership & Strategic Counsel

  • Act as the senior strategic brain behind Earned+ and integrated communications programs.
  • Provide high-level oversight of media strategy, narrative development, messaging frameworks, and spokesperson counsel.
  • Intervene strategically during high-value media moments or sensitive stories, supporting teams with senior relationships where needed.
  • Offer seasoned counsel on issues, reputation management, and cultural risk, equipping clients to navigate a fast-moving environment.
  • Identify cultural, societal, and industry trends that open opportunities or pose implications for clients.

Influencer, Creator & Content Program Leadership

  • Provide top-line strategic oversight on influencer and creator work, ensuring programs are innovative, culturally resonant, and strategically aligned.
  • Guide the standards for partner vetting, briefing, content review, and measurement, reinforcing best-in-class practices.
  • Partner with creative and digital teams to elevate owned, social, and content-forward storytelling across client portfolios.
  • Oversee quality, brand safety, and strategic rigor across all content outputs.

New Business & Organic Growth Leadership

  • Identify, shape, and lead organic growth opportunities, proactively strengthening and expanding client relationships.
  • Lead or co-lead new business pitches, contributing to pitch strategy, narrative development, resourcing, and team orchestration.
  • Drive thought leadership and innovative ideas that reinforce Veritas’ positioning in the market.
  • Collaborate with agency leadership to strengthen offerings, case studies, credentials, and cross-functional integration.
  • Contribute meaningfully to annual revenue planning and growth strategy.

Qualifications

  • A seasoned communications leader with 10+ years of PR, communications, digital, or integrated agency experience (agency background strongly preferred).
  • A trusted advisor with a track record of building strong relationships at senior levels.
  • Proven ability to lead large accounts or multi-brand portfolios with strategic depth.
  • A strategic thinker who brings clarity, insight, and cultural fluency to complex challenges.
  • Strong financial and operational acumen: forecasting, staffing, budgeting, margin oversight, and growth planning.
  • An inspiring people leader with experience managing and developing multi-level teams.
  • A confident communicator with exceptional writing, storytelling, and presentation skills.
  • A calm, solutions-oriented leader who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
  • Familiarity with AI, analytics platforms, and social listening tools (training available).
  • Passionate about modern PR, the creator economy, social culture, and the future of earned-first thinking.
