As an Account Director, you are a trusted, senior partner to clients and internal teams alike. You own the client relationship and drive the strategic direction of the account, ensuring the work consistently delivers against business objectives. You lead with clarity and confidence, empowering your team to execute seamlessly, while maintaining a high bar for craft, operational excellence, and culture-forward thinking.

What You'll Do:

Client Leadership & Strategic Partnership

• Own senior client relationships, serving as a primary strategic counsel and trusted day-to-day escalation point.
• Lead the development of integrated brand strategy, translating business challenges into insight-driven, culturally relevant communications approaches.
• Guide and elevate client communications through strong POVs, proactive counsel, and clear recommendations that anticipate what’s next.
• Lead high-stakes client moments (e.g., quarterly business reviews, campaign strategy presentations, issue management conversations), ensuring delivery of executive-ready thinking and materials.
• Collaborate closely with integrated agency partners to shape 360 strategies aligned to business objectives, maintaining strong relationships and seamless cross-agency integration.
• Set clear expectations on goals, timing, and deliverables; manage scope strategically and address risks early with decisive solutions.
• Keep senior leadership informed with strong “managing up” practices aligning on priorities, escalations, and opportunities.

Portfolio Oversight, Operational Excellence & Financial Leadership

• Provide oversight across programs to ensure timelines, budgets, resourcing, and output quality meet expectations, without being executionally embedded day-to-day.
• Partner with internal leadership on account forecasting, resourcing plans, and scope management, ensuring the business is healthy and set up for delivery.
• Identify and mitigate risks across workflow, budget, team capacity, and client expectations; drive solutions that protect quality and margins.
• Establish and refine account processes that improve efficiency and create consistent, scalable ways of working.
• Ensure the team is operating with clarity: aligned briefs, strong project plans, and effective collaboration across disciplines.

Team Leadership, Mentorship & Delegation

• Lead, mentor, and develop a multi-level account team, providing coaching that builds confidence, capability, and career growth.
• Set direction, delegate effectively, and empower others to lead execution, stepping in to unblock, elevate strategic thinking, and ensure quality.
• Provide clear, constructive feedback and performance support; identify training needs and help team members strengthen their craft.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and calm leadership, especially in high-pressure moments.

Media Strategy & Thought Leadership

• Serve as a senior strategist on Earned+ programs, ensuring media approaches are grounded in insight, cultural relevance, and business impact.
• Oversee the development of press materials, messaging, and spokesperson counsel, ensuring quality, consistency, and strategic alignment.
• Guide media strategy and outreach direction, ensuring targeted, high-value engagement; step in for priority relationships and moments when needed.
• Support clients in navigating reputation, issues, and fast-moving news cycles with thoughtful counsel and decisive recommendations.
• Keep a pulse on cultural and industry shifts, translating signals into opportunities and strategic guidance for clients and internal teams.

Influencer, Creator & Content Program Leadership

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight across influencer and creator programs, ensuring partner choices and content approaches ladder to campaign goals.
• Guide teams on creator strategy, briefing standards, content review frameworks, and measurement, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Partner with creative and digital leads to shape owned and social storytelling that is culturally fluent and strategically sound.
• Ensure content programs maintain brand integrity while maximizing relevance, engagement, and earned attention.

New Business & Organic Business Growth

• Support senior team members in identifying organic growth opportunities by monitoring client needs, campaign performance, and emerging category trends.
• Contribute to the development of proactive recommendations and upsell opportunities within existing accounts.
• Assist in preparing new business materials, including research, competitive scans, case study development, and draft sections of proposals or presentations.
• Participate in brainstorms and idea development for both organic and net‑new opportunities, bringing forward insight‑driven thinking.
• Maintain accurate documentation of scope changes, added deliverables, and budget impacts to support revenue forecasting and account health tracking.
• Build strong internal relationships to help mobilize the right teams and resources during new business or organic growth initiatives.
